PD Dr. Matthias Klusch is a principal researcher and research fellow of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) where he heads the Intelligent Information Systems (I2S) research team of the DFKI department for Agents and Simulated Reality. He is also a private docent of computer science at the Saarland University, Germany, and co-chair of the AI chapter of the German Society for Informatics (GI-FBKI). His research areas are hybrid AI, multi-agent systems, semantic technologies and services computing for intelligent data analysis and service coordination in smart information systems. In the past, he worked as adjunct professor of computer science at TU Swinburne in Melbourne (Australia), assistant professor at VU Amsterdam (The Netherlands), TU Chemnitz (Germany), and postdoctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (USA). He obtained his diploma and doctoral degree (PhD) from the University of Kiel and his habilitation degree (PD) in computer science from the Saarland University  (Germany).
