Dr. Alexander Steen

Research associate, University of Luxembourg / spokesperson of the GI specialist group 'Deduction Systems'

Alexander Steen studied Computer Science and Mathematics at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany,
and subsequently joined the Dahlem Center for Robotics and Machine Learning as a research assistant, where he developed the Leo-III system, a world leading AI system for logical reasoning in expressive formal languages, as part of his PhD studies. Since August 2018, Alexander is a researcher associate at the University of Luxembourg focusing on applying computer-assisted reasoning technology to machine-ethics and
normative reasoning in general. In 2018, Alexander was appointed GI junior fellow
and elected Speaker of the Special Interest Group for Deduction Systems (FG DedSys) of 
the Artificial Intelligence chapter (FB KI) of GI.
