Biographie

Jan C. Weyerer ist Doktorand bei Professor Bernd W. Wirtz am Lehrstuhl für Informations- und Kommunikationsmanagement an der Deutschen Universität für Verwaltungswissenschaften Speyer. 

Jan beschäftigt sich mit den Auswirkungen von KI auf die Gesellschaft, Wirtschaft und den öffentlichen Sektor mit besonderem Fokus auf die Risiken und Governance von KI. Die dabei entstandenen Publikationen zu KI im öffentlichen Sektor gehören zum Teil weltweit zu den meistzitierten Arbeiten in diesem Forschungsfeld. Als Gastforscher bei Professor David J. Teece am Institute for Business Innovation an der University of California, Berkeley hat er zudem zur Rolle von KI in Zusammenhang mit dynamischen organisationalen Fähigkeiten und Business Model Innovation geforscht. In seinen aktuellen Forschungsprojekten befasst sich Jan insbesondere mit der Beziehung zwischen KI und dynamischen organisationalen Fähigkeiten, mit der Entstehung und Verbreitung digitaler Desinformation durch KI sowie KI-Governance-Mechanismen. Er verfolgt dabei einen integrativen, interdisziplinären Forschungsansatz, der im Bereich der Information-Systems-Forschung verortet werden kann. 

Sein Ziel ist es, zur Entwicklung einer verantwortungsvollen KI-Governance beizutragen, die Innovation und Wertschöpfung durch KI stärkt und KI im Sinne der Menschlichkeit und öffentlichen Sicherheit gestaltet.

Jan C. Weyerer is a PhD student with Professor Bernd W. Wirtz at the Chair of Information and Communication Management at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer. 

Jan works on the impact of AI on society, the economy and the public sector, with a special focus on the risks and governance of AI. Some of the resulting publications on AI in the public sector are among the most cited works in this research field worldwide. As a visiting researcher with Professor David J. Teece at the Institute for Business Innovation at the University of California, Berkeley, he has also conducted research on the role of AI in the context of dynamic organisational capabilities and business model innovation. Jan's current research projects focus on the relationship between AI and dynamic organisational capabilities, the emergence and spread of digital disinformation through AI, and AI governance mechanisms. He pursues an integrative, interdisciplinary research approach that can be located in the field of information systems research. 

His goal is to contribute to the development of responsible AI governance that strengthens innovation and value creation through AI and shapes AI in the interests of humanity and public safety.

Fragestellungen im Themenfeld Künstliche Intelligenz

Mein Forschungsinteresse gilt insbesondere der verantwortungsvollen strategischen Gestaltung der KI-Governance, um besser zu verstehen wie die Chancen von KI genutzt und Risiken vermieden und gemindert werden können.
