Jana Koehler is scientific director of the Algorithmic Business and Production research area at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence GmbH (DFKI).  At Saarland University, she holds the Chair of Artificial Intelligence.
Koehler studied computer science and philosophy of science at Humboldt University in Berlin and received her PhD from Saarland University. She is a specialist in AI, cognitive robotics, and Industry 4.0, in software architecture, and in the optimization and digitization of business processes, and she is the co-author of one of the most important standards in the field of business process management (BPMN 2.0). From 2010 to early 2019, she was Professor of Computer Science at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
