Prof. Dr. Karl-Hans Bläsius

Karl-Hans Bläsius studied mathematics, physics and computer science at the RWTH Aachen University, doctorate in 1986 at the University of Kaiserslautern on a topic in the field of artificial intelligence. After working for the Max Planck Society, AEG and IBM, he was appointed professor at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and the Trier University of Applied Sciences in the field of "Knowledge-Based Systems".

The main focus of his research was document analysis, and the results of these projects were also applied in practice by founding companies. Now retired, a course on "Computer Science and Society" at Trier University of Applied Sciences includes the risks of accidental nuclear war in the context of computer science and AI. As a result of this topic treatment, the page www.atomkrieg-aus-versehen.de was established in 2019.
