Dr. Julia Danckwerth

The design researcher Julia Danckwerth investigates the possibilities of a social and ethical development and design of wearable enhancement in the field of smart health. In terms of a transdisciplinary approach, heterogeneous stakeholders are involved and a human-centered design as well as feasibility-oriented design are combined. In her previous case studies, she conducted research on muscular back pain, dementia disorders and developed smart textiles and wearables for prevention, diagnostics and therapy.

Her practice-integrating research has been awarded, among others, the "Wearable IT & Fashion Technology Award 2015", the "Creative Technology Award 2015" of the Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research Berlin; "Digital Innovation 2017" of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy; smart3 - Award "Time to Show" in the category Health of smart3 e. V., the "SENovation Award 2018" and by Wissenschaft im Dialog of the BMBF.
