Kaan Sahin is currently a Technology Fellow in the Policy Planning Unit of the German Foreign Office. Previously, he was Strategic Advisor for Cyber Dilomacy/EU Presidency in the Cyber Coordination Staff at the German Foreign Office. Prior to his activities at the German Foreign Office, he was a Research Fellow for Technology and Foreign Policy at DGAP and a consultant at Deloitte in the area of Cyber Risk and Public Sector. As a Mercator Fellower, he worked at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), for the Special Representative of the OSCE for the South Caucasus, at Carnegie Europe, and in the Strategic Analysis and Planning Staff of the NATO Secretary General. Kaan Sahin publishes on geopolitics and technology (e.g. AI, 5G), digital sovereignty, and foreign and security policy in cyberspace, and his work has been cited in the Wall Street Journal, Politico, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Handelsblatt, Tagesspiegel, and elsewhere.
