Biography

Viktoriya Olari promoviert in der Informatikdidaktik zu den Themen Künstliche Intelligenz und Data Science. In Zusammenarbeit mit Experten aus verschiedenen Branchen entwickelt sie Fallbeispiele – AI Playgrounds, die Schüler:innen befähigen, künstliche Intelligenz und Data Science ethisch, kritisch und gestaltend zu nutzen.

Viktoriya studierte IT Systems Analysis and Design an der University of Oxford sowie Informationsverarbeitung, Geschichte, Philosophie und Bildungswissenschaften auf Lehramt für Gymnasien und Gesamtschulen an der Universität zu Köln. Sie war viele Jahre am Zentrum für LehrerInnenbildung der Universität zu Köln im Bereich der digitalen Lehre tätig und ist dort auch heute noch Dozentin für digitale Bildung. Als Didaktik- Expertin entwickelte sie Technologien und Aktivitäten bei der Roberta-Initiative des Fraunhofer IAIS, um Robotik und maschinelles Lernen für Schüler:innen greifbar zu machen und veröffentlichte Ihre Ergebnisse auf internationalen Konferenzen wie AAAI. Derzeit ist Viktoriya wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und Doktorandin am Institut für Didaktik der Informatik der Freien Universität Berlin. Sie unterrichtet Informatiklehramtsstudierende und ist am europäischen bildungspolitischen Projekt TrainDL aktiv, in dem sie Informatiklehrer:innen in künstlicher Intelligenz und Data Science fortbildet.

In ihrer Freizeit engagiert sich Viktoriya als Jugendvertreterin und KI-Expertin beim Europarat für KI-Bildung und die Demokratisierung der KI-Governance. Sie ist Jurorin beim Deutscher Multimediapreis mb21, rezensiert für wissenschaftliche Zeitschriften und begleitet junge Menschen auf ihrem Weg in die Informatik bei verschiedenen Initiativen wie Girls’Day und MINToring-Programm an der Freien Universität Berlin.

Viktoriya Olari is doing her doctorate in computer science didactics on the topics of artificial intelligence and data science. In collaboration with experts from various industries, she develops case studies - AI Playgrounds - that enable students to use artificial intelligence and data science ethically, critically and creatively.

Viktoriya studied IT Systems Analysis and Design at the University of Oxford and Information Processing, History, Philosophy and Education at the University of Cologne. She worked for many years at the Centre for Teacher Education at the University of Cologne in the field of digital teaching and is still a lecturer for digital education there today. As a didactics expert, she developed technologies and activities at the Roberta initiative of Fraunhofer IAIS to make robotics and machine learning tangible for students and published her results at international conferences such as AAAI. Viktoriya is currently a research assistant and doctoral student at the Institute for Computer Science Education at Freie Universität Berlin. She teaches computer science and is involved in the European education policy project TrainDL, in which she trains computer science teachers in artificial intelligence and data science.

In her spare time, Viktoriya is involved in AI education and the democratisation of AI governance as a youth representative and AI expert at the Council of Europe. She is a juror for the German Multimedia Prize mb21, reviews for scientific journals and accompanies young people on their way into computer science in various initiatives such as Girls'Day and the MINToring programme at Freie Universität Berlin.
