At the end of the nomination phase (December 20, 2020 at 23:59:59) the GI KI-Camp team will create shortlists of 6 newcomer per category from all nominations (half of them persons, who consider themselves as female).
The selection of the final 10 AI Newcomers will be a two-part process: From the shortlists, 2 AI Newcomers per category can be selected from the shortlists by a public online voting process from February 1 to March 7, 2021 (1 female/diverse | 1 male/diverse). In addition, a jury will select the 2 most promising individuals (1 female/divers | 1 male/divers) per discipline. The results of the audience voting and the jury voting will be finally calculated in a ratio of 30:70.
The jury consists of two GI representatives, one expert from the respective discipline, a science journalist and two incumbent AI Newcomers. All jury members will be announced online in January.
